Ce projet s’inscrit dans le cadre de l’expansion des équipements publics de la ville de Varennes-sur-Seine et concerne la construction d’un dojo à la Grande Garenne, au cœur d’un site en pleine transformation (parc public, voiries, école et centre de loisirs). L’objectif est de créer un véritable espace de vie pour les utilisateurs, tout en intégrant l’équipement dans son futur environnement, reliant le centre historique, le quartier de la Maison Blanche et les nouveaux aménagements.
Le dojo se positionne au centre des futurs projets : parvis au sud, voie paysagère et cyclable à l’est, école au nord et parc à l’ouest. La conception compacte permet d’accueillir l’ensemble du programme tout en respectant le travail des paysagistes. Le plan rectangulaire évolue du hall d’accès au sud jusqu’à l’espace sportif au nord, les services étant situés au centre. L’aire d’évolution le long du parc génère un volume en progression adapté à l’activité, avec 4 m sous plafond pour les tatamis et un auvent au sud abritant un parking à vélos et un espace habité.
Les façades combinent bande opaque sombre au sol et bande translucide claire pour l’éclairage naturel. Des portes vitrées offrent des vues sur le parc. Les matériaux reflètent l’esprit du projet : ossature bois et bardage sombre pour les parties opaques, murs-rideaux en polycarbonate pour la lumière et l’intimité, créant un effet de lanterne illuminée le soir.
This project is part of Varennes-sur-Seine’s public facility expansion and involves the construction of a dojo at La Grande Garenne, in the heart of a site undergoing major transformation (public park, roadways, school, and leisure center). The goal is to create a true living space for users while integrating the facility into its future environment, connecting the historic center, the Maison Blanche district, and upcoming developments.
The dojo is positioned at the center of future projects: the square to the south, a landscaped and cycling path to the east, a school to the north, and the park to the west. Its compact design accommodates the full program while respecting the landscape design. The rectangular layout extends from the entrance hall in the south to the sports area in the north, with service spaces located at the center. The training area along the park generates a double-height volume suited to the activity, with 4 meters of ceiling height for the tatami area and a canopy at the south entrance covering a bike parking area and a small gathering space.
The façades combine a dark opaque band at ground level with a translucent light band to allow natural lighting. Glazed doors provide views of the park. Materials reflect the project’s philosophy: timber structure with dark cladding for opaque sections, and polycarbonate curtain walls for light and privacy, creating a lantern-like effect when the dojo is illuminated in the evening.
